Voice contestant Christina Grimmie was shot twice, one to the head and the other in the chest.
The report was released by the Orange County Medical Examiners in Orlando, Florida. We also learned that her killer, 27-year old Kevin Loibl died of a self inflicted wound. The 22-year-old’s cause of death was ruled a homicide, and no drugs were found in either her or Loibl’s systems.
As Us Weekly previously reported, YouTube star performed with the band Before You Exit in Orlando on June 11, and had been signing autographs for fans for about half an hour after the show when Loibl walked up to her and shot her twice. Grimmie’s brother ran to tackle Loibl and the gunman shot himself. The singer was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
Grimmie’s parents spoke at her memorial service while explaining the pain they felt of losing a child.
“I don’t have too much to say,” her mother, Tina, began before breaking down in tears, according to an eyewitness. “To anybody who says that I’m strong, I want you to know that I’m the weakest person here, and I declare my dependence on Jesus Christ because I don’t have anything else. It’s just so much.”
Funeral services for Grimmie were New Jersey on Friday, June 17.
