Sister Act and Sister Act 2 was one of my favorite movies to watch back in the 90’s and now Disney has confirmed on Tuesday (June 2) the pioneering musical flick is getting a makeover with Cinderella producer Ally Sherman and Legally Blonde writers Kristen Smith and Carol McCullah.
According to the The Hollywood Reporter/ Via Vibe.com
details about the remake are under wraps, and it’s unclear whether Goldberg will reprise her role. The movie generated $232 million worldwide, while the 1993 sequel, Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, grossed $57 million in the U.S.
The film, which also starred Maggie Smith and Kathy Najimi, was turned into a Tony Award winning Broadway musical in 2011.
