Now supporters crafted a website for the Chi-town resident to run for mayor of the Windy City in 2019. The Grammy Award-winning artist stands up against Rahm Emanuel, who Chance’s father, Ken Bennett, worked for as his deputy chief of staff.
Chance has flirted with the idea of possibly running on his song “Somewhere In Paradise,” stating, “They say I’m savin’ my city, say I’m stayin’ for good. They screamin’, ‘Chano for mayor,’ I’m thinkin’ maybe I should.”
Bea Malsku, 23, was part of the group that created the website. The game designer and writer told the Sun-Times, “We would be very happy if he’d become more politically involved and he endorsed a candidate who stands up for the same things that he stands up for in his music.”
