Atlanta’s South side singer “Lloyd set out to reintroduce himself to the R&B game after a lengthy wait to release new music.
“I lost it all,” he says. “My friends, my loved ones. But in life, there’s always a chance to grow from the struggle, from the pain, from the realness…Here’s my story.”
Lloyd told BET that that “TRU” is about being a fighter speaking truthfully and honestly about his imperfections. He discusses how he had to let his old crew go to find a new crew.
“It’s really about embracing the idea that there’s never failure. There is only lessons to be learned and character to be built. I wanted to shed light on that and I wanted to go towards that light and not run away from it. I got with J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, who produced the track and I wrote it with my good friend Shakespeare. It’s basically me bleeding my heart out to the music.”
The ex Murder Inc member has been out of the lime light since 2012 after The Play Boy Diaries Vol. 1 but plans to release a follow up.
