Nicki Minaj on Kim K Being Nude: “It Wasn’t Trashy or Raunchy When a White Woman Did It”

Nicki Minaj is covering the November issue of Marie Claire Magazine and she talks about the usual; Working through the Entertainment Industry’s double standard and having to deal with that as a black female rapper. Nicki also talks how working with her BFF Beyonce was empowering and inspiring to one’s career.

In this interview Nicki Minaj did not hold back not one bit, especially when the topic of Kim Kardashian came up.

Nicki States:

“When Kim Kardashian’s naked picture came out, [Sharon Osbourne] praised it, and my fans attacked her for being such a hypocrite,” Minaj says during the feature interview. “So it wasn’t trashy and raunchy when a white woman did it, but it was when a Black woman did it? It’s quite pathetic and sad, but that is my reality, and I’ve gotten accustomed to just shutting it down.”

During the feature, Minaj also talks about how she enjoys working with Beyoncé, because after each collaboration, she sees how other women are inspired by it.

“Every time Bey and I do something together, I see how women are inspired, and it has nothing to do with how we look,” Minaj adds. “It has to do with how we are owning who we are and telling other women you should be the boss of your own career and the brains behind your life or your decisions or your art. I just love that feeling.”
