These new age rappers man, Lil Peep who blended rap with emo has passed away at the age of 21.. The 21-year-old rapper, whose real name is Gustav Ahr, eerily posted to Instagram just hours before his death: “’When I die you’ll love me.”
According to Biilboard Magazine:
Reasons for his passing have not been revealed, though British broadsheet The Guardian cites a suspected overdose.
Peep’s manager Chase Ortega broke the news. “I’ve been expecting this call for a year. Mother fuck,” he tweeted.
Sarah Stennett, CEO of First Access Entertainment, who partnered with Peep in early 2016, released a statement about his death.
“I am shocked and heartbroken,” Stennett wrote.”I do not believe Peep wanted to die, this is so tragic. He had big goals and dreams for the future which he had shared with me, his team, his family and his friends. He was highly intelligent, hugely creative, massively charismatic, gentle and charming. He had huge ambition and his career was flourishing.
“I have spoken to his mother and she asked me to convey that she is very, very proud of him and everything he was able to achieve in his short life. She is truly grateful to the fans and the people who have supported and loved him.”
Bella Thorne who was his ex, posted an Instagram story, a mini tribute to her ex….“I just wanted to say anybody out there who is a Lil Peep fan, you guys know how talented he was, you guys know how great he was… well he was even more f—king great as a person,” Thorne said in a close-up video. “Peep you deserved more out of life. Life didn’t do your greatness justice,” she wrote.
