Various reports from close sources to Selena Gomez lay claim that the 24- year old singer has been seeking help during her depression battle. Gomez checked into a facility in Tennessee after announcing she was taking a break from stardom in August. We have also learned that Gomez has also been diagnosed with lupus and is learning how to care for herself since the diagnosis. A source told Us Weekly, “Selena is dealing with lupus, but this break is to focus on her mental health. She can go to a very dark place.” The insider said the facility is just outside of Nashville and is a “private and quiet place,” but “super intense.” Also in a statement given to E! News, the singer revealed she was suffering from some “side effects of lupus” like “anxiety, panic attacks and depression,” which she wants to face head on. Gomez thanked her fans for their support and understanding about her break explaining, “I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off.
Selena has been undergoing chemotherapy since the learning of her lupus diagnosis while raging how frustrating it is to have to travel to multiple locations for different treatments. She assured her fans that she will win the battle and change her story for the better. In another recent interview Gomez made a bold statement that she didn’t want anyone feeling sorry for her story, but to be patient with her and watch her win.
Prayers go out to her for her mental and physical recovery.
