Solange Scores First Number One Album With A Seat At The Table

Congratulations to Solange on scoring her first number one album and to be honest it is well deserved…

The songtress album A Seat At The Table selling 72,000 equivalent album units (46,000 traditional), which puts Knowles at the top spot.

Physical versions of A Seat at the Table are scheduled to arrive Nov. 18.

With this album, Solange celebrates a major career win. Seat follows 2003’s Solo Star, which peaked at No. 49 and 2008’s Sol-Angel & The Hadley St. Dreams, which peaked at No. 9. Later, 2012’s True arrived and peaked at No. 157.

The album also places Solange and her sister Beyoncé — who has six career No. 1s on this chart, including this year’s Lemonade — in a special category. They are among a few siblings to have reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200, a distinction previously attained by Michael and Janet Jackson, as well as Master P and Silkk the Shocker.
