Will Smith has been an actor forever. Like, for so long that he helped to get Queen Latifah started (once upon a time she was just a day-player on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air). So as someone who has been acting professionally for such a long time, it is assumed that he probably doesn’t fangirl all that much when he’s on set.
Well for most of his films, that assumption is probably 112% right, but for Suicide Squad, the fangirling happened and it happened hard.
The 48-year-old actor was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, discussing his new movie Suicide Squad where he plays DC Comics villain, Deadshot (get it? Because if he shoots to kill, you’re dead) and he said:
I can’t say that I blame Smith for his reaction to the entire situation. Batman has been a pretty big deal forever. In the past thirty years there have been at least seven movies about the dark knight, including one titled The Dark Knight. Batman is hella legendary to people everywhere and it must be pretty exciting to be in a movie where you’re playing one of his enemies.
So, Will Smith may not fangirl often, but this is definitely a case where there is absolutely no shame in going because….it’s Batman.
