It’s been awhile since I’ve been transparent in my postings and writing something heartfelt. CelebrityXO is a diverse platform that discusses many topics so I’m going to take this opportunity to address the topic of “service” incase people forget their purpose in the world.

As a society, I’m a bit confused as to when we got lost in the sauce of serving others. We have become self-centered and demanding what we want for others that we’ve forgotten to provide what others want from us. We sit around on our high horses setting expectations for our jobs, bosses, family, friends, and hell…even strangers. As if they owe us something. Simply put, YOU GET WHAT YOU GIVE! Seeds should be planted daily but they should also be watered and nourish. We are the type of society that takes off with ideas (aka planting the seeds) but complain when they don’t actually happen. The question then becomes what are you doing to challenge growth? In yourself and community? What are you giving and how far are you willing to go? I don’t think our society will ever thrive if we don’t develop or retrain our minds to a “service to others” state a mind.

“What can you do for me”; “what’s the purpose”; “you should do this for me” but what exactly can you do for EVERYONE? You get from the universe, what you give to the universe. How can you expect to love, if you can’t love? How do you expect to be taken seriously, if you’re not taken others seriously? How can you expect to receive investments when you’re afraid to invest in your damn self? John F. Kennedy stated, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” I’m not just talking politics neither am I talking from a direct subject. I’m speaking in general.

Servicing to others gives meaning to life. In addition to striving to achieve personal success, go out and serve others whole heartedly. Unselfish kindness and generosity validates great fortune. Notice I said whole heartedly without EXPECTING something in return. Wake up.
