Watch Viola Davis Epic SAG Awards Speech

Viola-Davis
A big congratulations is in order for Mrs. Viola Davis, the actress won for Best Actress In A Drama Series for her portrayal of Annalise Keating in ABC’s “How To Get Away With Murder.” It was an emotional and poignant speech in which Davis addressed diversity in Hollywood.

She tearfully said, “When I tell my daughter stories at night, a few things happen. Number one I use my imagination I always start with life and then I build from there and then the other thing that happens is she always says “Mommy, can you put me in the story?” … And you know it starts from the top up. So I would like to thank Shonda Rhymes, Betsy Beers, Bill D’Elia and Peter Nowalk for thinking that a sexualized, messy, mysterious woman could be a 49-year-old dark-skinned African American woman who looks like me.”
