Apple is at it again, they showcased their new Apple Watch and now debuted the new “ALL GOLD” Mac Book, it only weighs 2Lbs. As soon as Apple CEO Tim Cook presented the sleek machine, Twitter lit up, and soon “New MacBook” was trending nation-wide.
It’s a complete redesign, According to Forbes.com
Apple also touted the new keyboard, making it the full-size of the laptop but much thinner than older models. In order to make the MacBook the thinnest yet, Apple had to reconfigure the keyboard, employing “butterfly mechanism,” which is wider than the scissor mechanism in traditional keyboards, making the keys more stable and less space-consuming. The keys themselves are 17% wider than older MacBook keys, but 40% thinner. Reviews on the keyboard have been mixed.
The single jack allowed the MacBook to be thinner than ever, but it also requires users to employ a USB hub for multiple external devices. The “all day” battery life translates into 9 hours of web.
The new MacBook will start shipping April 10 with a base price of $1,299 for 8GB of RAM and 256GB of flash storage. An upgrade to 512GB of flash storage and a few other modifications runs $1,599, while additional “configure-to-order” options are available on Apple’s website.
