Black Girls Rock came on last night and all though there were a lot of great performances, Faith Evans truly stood out. She performed his single ‘Be Free’ his tribute to Ferguson.. Images of protesters with “Black Lives Matter” signs flashed on the screens behind her as she belted out the emotional song, while First Lady Michelle Obama and a teary-eyed Sheila E. looked on.
It was so touching that J. Cole even tweeted her after she was done…..
Faith Evans. We feel you. Beautiful.

In addition to honoring six groundbreaking women including Jada Pinkett Smith, Cicely Tyson, and Erykah Badu, the fifth annual event featured performances from R&B’s leading ladies including Jill Scott, Faith Evans, Fantasia, Estelle, and Ciara.
Dressed in all white, CiCi hit the stage at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center to perform her Future-inspired single “I Bet.” The wind machine whipped through her hair as she belted out the personal anthem, while First Lady Michelle Obama was seen clapping in the audience.
