Fans Are Upset With Ciara After Performing Only Five Minutes…

Ciara fans are very upset with the singer after giving a very short five minute performance in New Zealand.

According to
It is unclear why the gig, held at Ilam Fields last night, was aborted.

Technical issues meant the sound quality was poor and Ciara herself apologised on social media, saying a “curfew” meant the DJ was cut off.

It is understood Ciara’s management requested a higher appearance fee when the venue was shifted outdoors.

The artist performed just a handful of songs before walking offstage, earning fans’ ire.

“I was very disappointed with what happened,” one said on social media.

“I would like a full refund. The concert was due to finish at 10pm according to tickets and the headlining act was on for five minutes at 11pm.”

She also commented that she found an MC’s strong language and suggestion that a girl take her top off to be “incredibly offensive” and “disrespectful”.

“I want to emphasise that I am a Ciara fan. I would not have stayed if I knew she was only coming on for two songs… the MC was awful and offensive and I would never pay to see him; I really just wanted someone to take the microphone off him.”

One fan commented: “I am still a Ciara fan, and I am sad that I didn’t get to go to a Ciara concert, so please give me my money back.” GET A REFUND

Consumer New Zealand’s Jessica Wilson said concert-goers paid for a service that was not performed – “or only five minutes of the service were performed” – and therefore had good grounds to claim a refund on tickets under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

“They should request a refund from the ticketing retailer,” she said.

“Consumers who paid by credit card may be able to get a chargeback on their card.”

Ciara took to social media to defend herself, posting: “They said curfew and cut off the DJ. I was just as surprised as you, and truly disappointed! There were a few other things out of my control as well.”

Matty Peilua, of Australian touring agency Ginnen Group, posted an apology on the event’s Facebook page this morning:

“The event team wish to apologise for the events which took place last night, although it was outside of our control we are truly sorry. We, like you, are disappointed that the headline act was unable to perform as we had been assured they would from the booking agent,” Peilua wrote.

“Please be assured that we did everything we could from our end to try [to] make the show still go on. We are not going to blame anyone or any one thing, we will simply say that we are as disappointed as everyone else.”

He said all meet-and-greet ticketholders would receive a full refund and wrote “we are also happy to negotiate part refunds for other ticketholders”.

Initially booked to perform at indoor venue The Foundry, ticket demand for Ciara’s show led to the event moving to an outdoor show at Ilam Fields.

Her management team did not respond to requests for comment.

General admission tickets to Ciara’s Christchurch show cost between $45 and $55. VIP “meet-and-greet” tickets cost $110.

Ciara will perform in Wellington tonight and in Auckland on March 3.
